Welcome Spring !
According to the weather experts, spring 2010 might just be one of the warmest on record. For those of us in the solar industry, we didn't need the weather experts to tell us that things are heating up. The OPA FIT and Micro-FIT programs, cottage electrification, and a fresh pool season are three big reasons for us to feel the heat. Let's take a sneak peek at what's in store for you this spring:
FIT and Micro-FIT Highlights:
The early fears that Ontarians would not have products available to support the domestic content provisions of grid-tie projects under the OPA contracts have been all but quenched. There has been a veritable tidal wave of manufacturing in Ontario over the winter, and we now have high quality products to fit just about every category of solar installation.
Some of the highlight products and manufacturers are:
Unirac is one of the largest solar module racking manufacturers. They are well known not only for their incredibly diverse product lines, but also their unparalleled engineering support. Many projects in Ontario will not get installed without proper engineering, and Unirac provides the most extensive support we've ever seen. Unirac is now extruding their most popular SolarMount Standard rail profile and supporting components in Ontario, and we are now stocking their products in our warehouse for your needs.
Headquartered in Massachusetts, Solectria Renewables is building solar grid tie inverters in Ontario through an alliance with an Ontario manufacturer. There full line of inverters, from 1.8 kW to 95 kW in size, are available from us to support your installations.
Cottage Electrification:
2010 might just be the best year ever to install, or upgrade your cottage system. Not only are solar prices at their lowest we've ever seen, but we have new products too!

Store Expansion Update
We have finally merged our office and local warehouse locations into one facility in St. Thomas. This will help us serve you even better with quicker order processing, shipping, delivery or customer pick-up. Our strategic alliance with Canada Pack and Parcel in St. Thomas also gives us some of the best courier pricing through FedEx Ground or Express. Also, with this move comes more manpower to answer phones, build solar and battery cables, build custom electrical enclosures, and more.
Looking Forward
2010 is going to be a transition year for Ontario. Module manufacturing is ramping up to meet the 2011 domestic content percentages. Local, national and international manufacturers of balance of system components are positioning themselves to capture market share in the emerging Ontario solar economy.
Our desire is to continue to supply our customers with products that will meet or exceed their expectations. We won't try and lure customers with un-realistic expectations of performance, trick pricing, or sub-standard products. Unlike some other companies in far away states, we don't try to sell B grade or uncertified modules, and we certainly don't mislead you with claims of domestic content where manufacturing is concerned. After all, we've been living in Ontario our whole lives, and selling solar equipment to our neighbours for 10 years. We are proud that Ontario has begun to embrace solar, and just want to make sure that all of our customers are treated fairly, and honestly so that they may make informed and accurate decisions about their investment in solar.
