Ontario Content Update:

The OPA REFIT and FIT program Ontario domestic content requirements for solar have created opportunities for large and small manufacturers alike. Manufacturing in Ontario is developing, and we believe will continue to expand quickly over the next few months.

The following list of manufacturers that are either already in Ontario, or will be in Ontario can be used as a guide for product selection where domestic content concerns exist. We will attempt to keep this list as current as possible.

Ontario Solar Modules:

• Canadian Solar is a China based manufacturer of premium silicon based solar modules, and will be manufacturing in Ontario early 2010.
• CentennialSolar is a Quebec based manufacturer of premium silicon based solar modules, and are now producing modules in Ontario.
• Solar Semi-Conductor Inc. (SSI) is an East Indian based manufacturer of premium silicon based solar modules, and will be manufacturing in Ontario in mid 2010.
• Solgate is an Ontario based manufacturer of silicon based solar modules. Currently, their production is captive, and purchasing can only be done through Sentinel Power Systems.

Ontario Solar Racking:

• Roof Mount - Dyco Solar is a Quebec based manufacturer of solar racking solutions for roof, pole, and ballasted installations. They have moved manufacturing into Ontario and extrusions for flush roof mounting are available now. Click here to go to Dyco Solar products listed on this website.

• Pole Mount - Power Series brand by True North Power NG is an Ontario based manufacturer of solar racking solutions for pole mounted and (soon) tracker installations. They have manufacturing in Ayr, Ontario.

• Roof, Ground, and Pole Mount - Unirac is a US based manufacturer of solar racking solutions for just about every solar installation. Unirac is now providing the SolarMount Standard line in Ontario. Ontario Solar Grid Tie Inverters:

• Solectria Renewables - is a USA based inverter manufacturer that manufactures inverters for both the REFIT and FIT level solar markets. They are now manufacturing in Ontario, and supply is available. Click here to go to the Solectria page on our website.
