Charge Controllers are installed in series between your solar array and your battery bank. They are essential for ensuring optimal battery charging, prevention of battery overcharging, and prevention of reverse charge battery drain at night. Some charge controllers can also be used to manage DC loads, divert excess electricity from a battery bank (diversion control), or even turn lights on and off.
